What is CBD?

Cannabis is a naturally occurring compound extracted from the Hemp plant. Cannabinoid receptors are the most abundant receptors in our bodies. The total number of cannabinoid receptors outnumber all other types of receptors combined. Scientists refer to CBD as a “smart molecule” and also multi-target therapy. Over 50 different mechanisms of action for CBD have been identified by researchers. All these mechanisms help us achieve a healthy state of balance, or homeostasis. Usually, CBD is taken by mouth as oil drops or a powder that dissolves in water, or made into a food to be eaten. Another form of CBD is used on the skin as the oil or a cream to rub in. CBD is popularly taken in the ‘vape’ method (from the word “vapor”), when the CBD is heated so it can be inhaled.

Healing Leaf CBD salve is a combination of phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil, beeswax, and essential oils that can be easily applied externally. The salve is available in 1 ounce and 2 ounce sizes with 500mg and 1000mg of CBD, respectively. The cream is 200 mg CBD and 4 fl ounces.
